A non-profit consumer advocacy group known as FBIC (Fight Bad-faith Insurance Companies) has released a list, called the "FBIC Banking 100" that ranks insurers into two categories based on their claims payment practices.
There was a three way tie for first on the "Bad Faith" list, with Allstate, State Farm & The Hartford listed as companies to most definitely avoid.
"Bad Faith Insurance" refers to an instance when an insurance company denies, delays or underpays payment of a valid claim, without a good reason. Bad Faith can also refer to when insurance is cancelled after a claim is made. made a claim? That may also be an act of bad faith.
