An 8-year-old boy died a tragic death recently, when he was crushed to death by an automatic gate in his LA Vegas community.
The incident occurred in a Las Vegas neighborhood, and the boy seems to have been a resident of the neighborhood. The boy was attempting to crawl through an open space, where the arm of the gate moves through when it opens and closes, and then realized that the gate sensor had become activated by another boy. The gate began to open, and the boy attempted to draw away from the gate in time, but was unable to. He suffered severe crushing injuries, blunt force, compression injuries.
Police reported to the scene of the accident, and rushed the boy to the hospital. However, his injuries were very serious, and he was pronounced dead.
This is a terrible tragedy, and our hearts go out to the parents of the boy. Investigations into the incident are likely to begin soon. So far, police are reporting that this was a tragic incident and nothing more.
The possibility of better safety and security, especially for children, in gated and residential communities is one of the reasons why people move to such communities in the first place. However, accidents can occur even in a gated community. When these accidents occur, the community owners should be liable for negligence.
However, proving that owners of the property were liable for negligence in your case and liable for damages is not always easy. While a gated community is responsible for providing a certain amount of security for all residents, homeowners and residents are also required to exercise caution and look out for their own safety. Speak to a Las Vegas personal injury lawyer, if you have suffered injuries in a gated community.
